=================================================================================

The reunion committee met Monday 01/11/2010.  Present were Sharon Thompson Smith, Jodi Simmons Parker, Sandy Bayliss Darland, Diane Holt Yarrish, Bill Foulon, Scot Harrison, Ron Wallace.

1.        It was learned that RVCC can service our event for a per person charge of about $20.00.  There may be a set up charge of $300.00 for a bar service.  Drinks are not included in the $20.00.   The $650 already paid was for facility use.

2.       A check was prepared for $125 to secure D J Hope, Hope Caster, for the evening at RVCC.

3.       It was agreed a Friday evening get together should be included and information will be gathered.  Seems people who come from out of town probably want more than a single event.

4.       Different choices were offered for the Friday event than Roxy Ann Winery.

5.       One choice was Del Rio Winery outside Gold Hill.  Evidently Crater HS had an event there recently and found it well put together.  Sharon will check into costs for that choice. Sharon will also check on cost of a three piece band for possible use at a Winery.

6.       We are considering bus transportation so that we can go as a group to a place like Del Rio.  Bill provided valuable insight into using bus transportation since that was his business in LA for 25 years.  Scott reported that 549C school busses are available for $159.00 for the first 3 hours and $53.00 for each additional hour.  The bus would be a 44 passenger.  So that comes to $3.62 per passenger.   That seemed rather reasonable.

7.        Sharon was also going to check another winery in the Applegate she mentioned that has an excellent group use area.  Concern about that was expressed due to the distance.

8.       Sandy suggested Centennial Golf Course and the outside tent facility for consideration.  It was learned the person who makes the arrangement at Centennial also schedules for the Manor in the new building so Sandy will check on that cost too.

9.        It was suggested we could look into the Historic Walking Tour offered by Medford offered by City Councilman Ben Truwe.  Ron will make that arrangement.

10.   The next meeting will be scheduled for the end of February with final cost established and begin taking reservations.

11.   Diane agreed to provide the mailing address to receive payments.  I (Ron) also can process Credit Cards for Visa, Master Card, and Discouver Card this time.

Notes from our Reunion meeting on 11/4/09.
 1.       We want to find out if there is cost savings at RVCC to use the Patio only rather than the full dining room + the patio.
2.       A suggestion was made to have the Saturday evening Reunion dinner be very informal and have a self serving area set up to enable the most opportunity for social  connection.
3.       It was agreed to use the DJ (Hope?) recommended by Scott at RVCC
4.       Other activities were discussed among these ideas
a.       A group tour of local wineries by bus probably on Friday.  (Scott will check with Sue Stephens at Chamber)
b.      A walking historic group tour of downtown Medford offered by Ben Truwe
c.       A golf event
d.      Picnic in the park
5.       We welcome classmate suggestions for activities of interest.
6.       190 invitations were prepared to mail to classmate addresses we have but do not have email on record.
7.       Classmates whose email (about 160) is on record are not sent mailed invitations to save expense.
8.       The mailing was sent on 11/5.
9.       Attending were Sharon(Thompson)Smith, Jodi(Simmons)Parker, Sandra(Lee)Anderson, Scott Harrison, Ron Wallace, Katie(Mitchell)Ludwig, Alice (Peterson) McGee, Bill Foulon.
10.   The others who were ill or unable to attend were missed.
11.   If anyone has Photographs from the 10th Reunion to post on the website please contact us.
12.   Next meeting is expected to be in January.
